Lina Kolotilova is a Russian contemporary visual artist who works mainly with photography and short video. She came late to the arts leaving a prominent career in digital advertising. Lina studied photography at Rodchenko Art school of Multimedia and Photography (Moscow, Russia) and currently continues her education at MMoMA’s Free Workshops Contemporary Art school (Moscow, Russia) and FotoDepartament Institute (Saint-Petersburg, Russia). In 2017 she participated in “Research art-laboratory” with Salvatore Vitale ("YET-magazine").

Most of Lina’s work is based on connection to Soviet epoch, whereas it is an eclectic environment to live in, childhood recollections as a source for imagining future or just a handful of vague memories slipping away one by one. She works in the form of direct documentation, interventions in the setting and creates visual abstracts from what she encounters.

Her selected exhibitions include “The Community of the Spectacle” (Cube space, Flacon Design Factory, Moscow, Russia), “Awkward forms” (Fotodepartament gallery, Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and “Tomato Monada” (Rodchenko ASMP space, Moscow, Russia).

She was born and currently resides in Moscow.
