Back to the Garden (2017)
I have traveled to the most significant botanical garden of the post-soviet territory, Batumi Botanical Garden in Georgia, to live there for 30 days and to feel the border between my urban life and natural environment.
My broken link to nature led me to an exploration of a place, where the contact with the live surroundings shifts my daily life experience.
I work in the form of direct documentation, interventions in the setting and make visual abstracts from what I encounter.
A city dweller contacts an unknown natural object mostly in botanical gardens and zoos. These institutions were designed with an enlightenment purpose, but nowadays those places become almost the only secured reservations where city people can get in touch with nature.
